A little mid-week humor for you: Mitsubishi offers its line of Wakamaru robots to help with staffing needs. The 3 1/4 foot tall yellow robot on wheels has the following features:
- facial recognition
- conversational ability with a vocabulary of 10,000 words
- the ability to perform simple manual tasks
The company claims the robot is perfect for welcoming visitors and even sings a song for them while they wait. The daily rate is around $1,000 (USD) per day. I wonder if I can convince our front office team to sing for our patients. Hmmm.
