Childhood Blood Pressure Increases By 30%

It’s not enough to screen your adult patients for blood pressure – you should also pay attention to the younger patients – according to a new study published in the American Heart Association’s journal, Circulation. Childhood obesity is on the rise so it makes sense that another dangerous health indicator should follow. If you are taking blood pressure readings in your office, be aware that a child cuff is necessary as adult cuffs do not take accurate readings on children.
