Mayo Clinic’s 2nd National Symposium on Health Care Reform

Hosted by Tom Brokaw, this meeting will take place March 9-11, 2008 in beautiful Leesburg, VA – just outside of Washington, DC. Since this is my neck of the woods, I quickly signed up. The first symposium was held in 2006 and centered on the topics of health IT and the real cost of healthcare reform. With next year being an election year, the agenda for the next symposium focuses on reform possibility and the cost to our economy.

Health care costs have been slowly shifted to the consumer over the last few years and more than a few think tanks and media outlets are asking if it’s gone too far. With the number of uninsured persons and health care premium costs rising, perhaps they’re right. However – the high cost of medical benefits is a real concern to small business owners. You can’t win, really. And that’s why I’m going to this conference – I want the experts to explain it to me.
