Porous titanium foam as tooth replacement therapy? It’s coming our way. The foam is porous enough to allow for osseointegration and could possibly eliminate the need to graft bone. Toronto-based Biomedical Implant Technologies will distribute the product pending regulatory clearance.

I’ve never heard of that before…Do you happen to know whether or not it is covered under dental insurance as well as how much it would cost?
It hasn’t hit the market yet so it’s anyone’s bet. I can’t imagine it will be more than a conventional implant or doctors won’t switch – unless it’s got a 100% success rate but that’s pretty unlikely. As soon as I know about insurance coverage I’ll be sure to post it. Thanks for stopping in, Jenna!
